An Oxford Green Councillor is warning about the danger of cash machine fraud
after an ATM in her Ward was apparently tampered with and a member of the
public had several hundred pounds fraudulently removed from her account.
When contacted by the member of the public, who has asked to remain
anonymous, the police admitted that there had been a spate of reports of ATM
fraud in the area.
The ATM in question is outside Tescos on the Cowley Road.
Says Green Cllr Mary-Jane Sareva, "Anyone who as recently used the cash
machine outside Tescos needs to check their bank balance and immediately
report any odd payments to the police and their bank."
The Greens have reported the problem with this particular ATM to the police
to take further action.
