MP should come clean on nuclear Print E-mail

16th May 2005

The Greens are asking East Oxford New Labour MP Andrew Smith to come clean over his views on nuclear power following the Labour Government's decision to pre-empt the findings of the Energy View and back nuclear.

The voting record of Labour MP Andrew Smith suggests a strongly pro-nuclear stance. He has supported nuclear power on all relevant Commons votes (Source: PublicWhip.org)

Says Green Cllr Craig Simmons: "The City Council is taking steps to reduce its energy use and improve energy conservation in its own properties and Council housing. More needs to be done to increase renewables and minimise enegy use but the solution is not nuclear."
