Cllr David Williams successfully tabled a motion condemning the proposed closure of the Psychotherapy Department, the Central Psychology Service, and the self-referral counselling and psychotherapy service provided by the Isis Centre (Little Clarendon Street). The motion insisted that the NHS Trust consult on the proposed changes. Cllr Williams said, “I am pleased to have gained the support of the majority of City Councillors in expressing concern at the way this decision has been made as an internal, health service decision, without any public consultation.” Cllr Williams is a member of the City Health Scrutiny Committee, which should have been consulted on these controversial and highly damaging proposals.
