Reacting to the news - broken by the Oxford Mail - that two former LibDem City Councillors are planning to switch to the Conservatives today, City Green Group leader Cllr Craig Simmons stated:

"It is a long time since the Conservatives have had any representation on the City. Relying on defections from other parties is clearly the only way they are going to gain a foothold - which will inevitably be short-lived.  Given the disillusionment within the ruling LibDem Group on the City I would be surprised if we didnt see some more of their Councillors quitting."
