Greens have welcomed the unexpected move by the Conservative-run Oxfordshire County Council - in response to the national MPs expenses scandal - to publish details of the expenses claimed by individual County Councillors.

Not one of the five Green County Councillors claimed any expenses at all making the Greens the lowest claiming political group.

Says Green Group leader Larry Sanders; "The Greens have been frugal and have avoided unnecessary claims. Given the significant contribution we have made to the Council over the years this represents extremely good value for the taxpayer."
