At a benefit solo show for the Green Party on 25 February, Radiohead frontman and former Oxford resident, Thom Yorke explained why he supports the Green Party:
"I am sick of politicians not
talking about green issues. What blows my mind is that half the country is supporting environmental
issues yet we are not represented in Parliament."
The singer performed a mammoth 19 song set, accompanying himself on piano, keyboards, acoustic, electric and bass guitar. He included a number of Radiohead tracks as well as tunes from his 2006 debut album 'Eraser'.
The gig was performed in support of Tony Juniper, who is campaigning to become a Green MP, and had accompanied Yorke as he crashed the UN Climate Change Conference in December.

Green Party Leader, Caroline Lucas told the Party conference she was "going to throw caution to the winds... I'm going to talk about victory."
She said that victory in one or more seats would give the party an historic responsibility.
Green MPs would serve their constituency, "but also contribute to the renewal of politics and the building of a fairer and more sustainable future for us, and for the wider world."

At the annual City Council
budget meeting, the ruling Labour group has settled for a weak compromise with the LibDems.

Even the Deputy Leader of the Labour group described the Greens' budget as workable, but said it was "too green" for the Labour group to consider!
