Greens get highest ever % vote in the County Council elections polling an average 14% across the County and 22% in Oxford City (beating the Conservatives into fourth place). Disappointingly, the Greens failed to retain three of their current five seats by narrow margins. The good weather, l ate timing of the elections and undelivered polling cards are some of the factors thought to have led to the low turnout amongst green supporters. Nonetheless, the record average vote across the County shows growing support for the Greens. In the European Elections Greens topped the Oxford City-wide poll 2,115 votes ahead of Labour. Greens also pushed Labour into 5th place across the South East Euro Region.
