28th November 2007 Green City and County Councillor Craig Simmons today launched his new book, the ZEDbook, at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London. Co-authored with award-winning British eco-architect Bill Dunster and energy expert Bobby Gilbert, the ZEDbook - subtitled 'solutions for shrinking world' - explains the principles behind building zero carbon developments (ZEDs) such as housing and low carbon transport alternatives. Says Cllr Simmons, who is Technical Director of the East Oxford-based, Queens-award winning environmental consultancy Best Foot Forward, "There is poor understanding amongst Councillors, developers, planners, architects and builders as to how they can realise zero emission developments (ZEDs). This practical book sets out the reasons why ZED's are important, how they can be delivered and provides case studies of successful projects."
